The Trumbull Health Department wants to remind parents to get their daycare aged children a flu shot. The flu shot is required every year before January 1st for children 6 months and older in Connecticut daycares.

Trumbull Health Department will be offering quadrivalent flu shots on a walk-in basis on Mondays and Tuesdays. Monday hours are 3 to 5 p.m. and Tuesdays from 9:30–11:30 a.m.

Flu shots are covered by Anthem, Connecticare, Aetna, Cigna. Please bring an insurance cards and a valid driver license/State. Standard seasonal flu shots cost $30 per person. Minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian to receive vaccine.

According to Megan DiMeglio, the department’s health educator, there are a few simple steps to protect you and the people around you from the flu: Wash your hands often with soap and water, cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough, stay home if you feel sick, and get your flu shot from the Trumbull Health Department.
