After months of construction and the anticipation of eager diners, The Cheesecake Factory is opening at Westfield Trumbull next Tuesday.

The restaurant, which features a menu of 250 items, and 30 kinds of cheesecake, will be open for lunch on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

“Our staff has been in training for a couple of weeks now and we will be wrapping up in the next few days,” said Alethea Rowe, senior director of public relations and brand management with The Cheesecake Factory Inc.

The restaurant has hired roughly 300 staff members.

This will be the company’s 172nd restaurant and the third in the state. The two others are in Danbury and West Hartford.

“We are very focused on finding the right sites,” Rowe said. “We thought the mall was perfect, and a really fantastic site. We also feel the Connecticut locations are spaced out well. Our guests in Trumbull had to go out of the way a bit to dine with us before and this gives new folks a chance to try us.”

There has been no shortage of excitement surrounding the impending opening in Trumbull, which started when the restaurant application went before Planning and Zoning in March. Rowe said the company loves the passion that many people have about the restaurant and she says there are many reasons it’s grown so popular, from food to decor.

“It’s really the complete experience — all aspects of it from the warm welcome the moment they walk in the door to the interior and ambiance that our design team comes up with,” Rowe said.

There are also so many menu choices, including a “Skinnylicious” menu, so that every person can find what they are craving, she said. Artful presentation of food is also a big part of that experience.

“We don’t take it lightly that our guests have a lot of choices of where to dine and we have be focused on every aspect of their experiences,” Rowe said.

The Trumbull location will seat 275 people and is about 8,700 square feet. There is an outdoor patio, between the mall entrance and Ruby Tuesday’s, that will be open as weather allows.

The restaurant has later hours on the weekend and keeps the full kitchen open, so if you go to a late movie and need a bite, it will be open.

Hours are Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. for brunch and open until 10 p.m.
