The New Haven Boys & Girls Club Alumni has announced their 2013 Gold Ring Award recipients. Trumbull resident Al Carbone has been selected for the prestigious award. The Gold Ring is awarded in recognition of the volunteer service that the honorees perform in the community.

Carbone is a Government Relations Professional with UIL Holdings Corporation. He finds time to perform service in the community, included in some of his community activities is his serving as the Commissioner of the Southern Conn. Conference, which consists of the sports programs for the 22 participating high schools. He also serves on the committee for the Walter Camp All-American Football Foundation that honors the All-American Football Team. The Walter Camp Foundation raises funds for local charities. In addition to Carbone, the other honorees are, Albina Cannavaciolo of North Haven and North Haven First Selectman Michael Freda. The Gold Rings will be presented at the 79th Annual Gold Ring Awards Dinner on April 29th at the Country House Restaurant on Rt. 80 in East Haven.
