Preorder forms for the bird seed sale are due Friday, Nov. 29, at Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street. Seed pick up is Dec. 8.

Non-migrating birds expend a lot of energy finding food in the frozen winter landscape. They spend their winter days eating continuously in order to obtain enough calories to keep them warm during the night. A good choice for food is black oil sunflower seed, safflower seeds (squirrels and grackles don’t like it), nyjer and suet.

The Center will offer high quality Lyric bird seed available at a 20% discount. Pre-order forms are available at the Nature Store or online at ctaudubon.org/visit/fairfield.htm. Walk-in customers also are welcome.
