Rails To Back Trails — Local historian/author, Sue DelBianco, will be hosting a slide presentation called “Rails To Back Trails,” showing the audience, through captivating images the then-and-now of railroad history through Bridgeport, Trumbull, Monroe, Newtown, all the way to Pittsfield, Mass., linking the communities and promoting industry. The presentation starts at 7 p.m., at Trumbull High School, 72 Strobel Road, Trumbull, in the main auditorium. Admission is free. No reservations are needed. Seating is available. Donations needed for animal shelter — Trumbull Animal Shelter, 324 Church Hill Road is in need of the following: Clay litter, rawhide chews, canned cat or canned dog food (any kind) and dog toys for strong chewers (for example, Kongs). Although it is appreciated, soft toys with squeakers and stuffing are discouraged, since the animals can tear them out and get sick. Receipts are available at the shed for your charitable donation. Place donations in plastic bags and tie them up to keep clean and dry.
