Sally Ride: America’s First Woman Astronaut — Sunday, July 21, at 2 p.m. Join Sheryl Faye as she portrays the first American woman astronaut and a passionate advocate for STEM. This multi-media presentation honors the woman who coined the phrase, 'Reach for the Stars!' Registration required.
50th Anniversary of Woodstock — Wednesday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. Rare film and audio, informed storytelling, and collective music-making come together as master percussionist, storyteller, author, and educator leads this lively, fun-filled, multimedia, and participatory 50th anniversary celebration of the groundbreaking 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Festival.
YA Book Brigade — Thursday, July 18, at 4:30 p.m. This is a book club for teens entering grades 8-12. We will meet every 3rd Thursday of the month. The first 10 teens to register at the library will receive a copy of that month's book in advance to keep as their own. Additional registrants are permitted to join but must secure their own copy of the book. Registration required.
Leather Workshop — For grades 7 and up. Tuesday, July 23, from 1-4:30 p.m. Professional craftswoman Vanessa Fasanella will teach students the basics of leatherwork: Punching, riveting, sewing, and types of leather tools. Participants will then use this knowledge to create a personalized leather wallet to take home. Registration required.

Baby Café — For ages 6 months to 2 years. July 23 and 24, at 11 a.m. Baby's first introduction to the library. Babies and caregivers can expect songs, fingerplays, and a story guaranteed to enchant our littlest explorers. Drop-in.
Trumbull Youth Chess Club — Tuesday, July 23, from 6:45-7:45 p.m. Interested in chess? Young players of all skill levels are invited to attend. Learn the basics, learn strategies, and play against others!
Family Book Club — For grades 1-3. Thursday, July 25, at 5 p.m. This month we are reading Archie Takes Flight by Wendy Mass and Michael Brawer, the first book in the Space Taxi chapter book series. Read the book as a family, then come together to discuss it with other families. Refreshments are served. First 10 families to register may pick up a free copy of the book in the children's department. Registration required.
Teens and Adults
Nintendo Labo Workshop — For ages 8-14. Tuesday, July 23, from 3-4:30 p.m. Enjoy an afternoon of cardboard tinkering with Nintendo Labo. Bring your own Nintendo console and any fun games you would like to play. Nintendo Labo kits will be provided. Registration required.
D&D Club — For ages 12 and up. Wednesday, July 24, from 5:30-7 p.m. Make new friends and take part in exciting adventures. Never played before? No problem. No prior experience with D&D is required and all the materials will be provided. Bring your own character or use one of our pre-made characters. Registration required.
Rocket Science — For ages 9 and up. Thursday, July 18, from 3-4 p.m. Join Dr. Jane Copes of Science Outside the Box for some hands-on fun. Registration required.
Concert with Evan Gottfried — For all ages. Saturday, July 20, at 11 a.m. Enjoy a musical morning with Evan Gottfried and his assortment of songs, props, puppets, and bubbles. Drop-in.
Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing — For all ages. Saturday, July 20, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. You are cordially invited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with crafts, stories and activities that will showcase the Apollo missions to the moon. Registration is suggested.
Butterflies — For ages 1-2½. Monday, July 22, from 11-11:30 a.m. Enjoy lots of movement, songs, and stories for busy toddlers.
Protecting Earth from Cosmic Radiation — For ages 6 and up. Monday, July 22, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Join for a fun session filled with activities that will explain Supernovae, Nuclear Fusion and Cosmic Radiation.
Creators’ Corner Exploration — For ages 8 and up. Monday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 24, from 4-6 p.m. Discover 3D Printing, Ozobot robots or building with our construction and electronic kits. Drop-ins.
Turn It UP! — All ages. Tuesday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. Turn It UP is a fun and entirely interactive music program that gets kids up and moving. Registration required. Once registered you are signed up for all classes.
I want to be an Astronaut — For ages 3-5. Wednesday, July 24, from 2-3 p.m. Learn about how astronauts live and work in space. Learn about gravity and how rockets launch astronauts and their cargo into space. Children will make a twirly spacecraft and launch a mini-rocket in class. Registration required.
