UI reports 1,400 homes without power in Trumbull

The day-long rain and wind-storm has knocked out power to more than 1,000 Trumbull customers in the past hour, according to UI's storm outage report.

Four separate outages occurred within 45 minutes, the company reported. The four incidents affect Trumbull, Shelton and Easton customers.

The largest of the four, on upper Daniels Farm Road in the northeastern part of town, affects about 830 customers. A repair crew is en route and the estimated power restoration is about 10:30pm, according to the company.

A second outage, in the Lake Ave/Driftwood Lane area on the west side of town has cut power to 729 customers. That outage occurred at 9:15 and has not been assigned to a crew as of 9:40 p.m. UI estimates those customers will have their power restored by 11:15 p.m.

The final two power outages, on Harvester Road and Old Dike Road, affect a total of 62 customers. Power should be back on in those areas within the hour.
