Two Trumbull men were arrested at Eastern Mountain Sports, in Fairfield after an employee at the store spotted a handgun left unattended in a fitting room and called police.
The gun was loaded, police said.
When officers searched the owner, Todd Gregorio, 48, of Plattsville Road, Trumbull, they found four oxycodone pills.
Gregorio was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and failure to keep a narcotic drug in its original container. He was released on a promise to appear for a Dec. 21 court date.
While investigating the firearm report, police were informed that a person who arrived with Gregorio was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of New Hampshire. Robert Testa, 39, of 16 Robinwood Lane, Trumbull, was arrested and charged as a fugitive from justice.
He was held in lieu of a $250,000 bond for a Dec. 27 court date.
