The residents at Maefair Health Care Center, Trumbull, were delighted by a wonderful song and dance performance by the Trumbull Senior Center “Smile-Awhile” group on Friday, Oct. 24. They performed numbers from Broadway classics like South Pacific, Cabaret, Annie, and more. The finale included a touching salute to our armed forces.

The Smile Awhile group is led by Joy Koch. They perform for the Senior Center as well as for many skilled nursing facilities in the area each season. Costumes and props are funded partly by donations. The Smile Awhile troupe, formed eight years ago, sings and dances to old favorites from the 30’s, 40’s and more.

The performers come from Trumbull, Shelton, Fairfield, Monroe, Derby and Stratford. After the show, the performers individually greeted the residents. This event was one of the first of many in the Smile-Awhile 2014 season.
