Coach Niko Filippakis’ Trumbull High wrestling team placed second by nine points to team champion Simsbury High at the Frank Chaves Invitational on Dec. 28.
Cross Cannone (126 pounds), Kevin Cecio (132), Joey Ryan (160) and Andrew Marino (220) won individual titles.
Steve Briganti (152) placed second, Dante Montanaro (120) and Connor Sollenberger (195) were third, and Mo Othman (170) fourth.
Dorian Washington (138) won three matches, Tristan Haviland (106), Mike Greco (145) and Marcus Nieves (182) two each and Garret Sollenberger (113) one.
