Regional championship chorus Harmony on the Sound of Trumbull will present an original musical show, “The Gig is Up,” on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. at St. Thomas of Aquinas Parish Center in Fairfield.

“The Gig is Up” is a humorous, lighthearted story about the trials and tribulations of auditioning for an agent and will feature chorus performances of original and parody songs in four-part, a capella barbershop style.

There will also be a silent auction of themed gift baskets and an “Afterglow” party with food and beverages immediately following the performance in the St. Thomas Aquinas Hall.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $15 for students. All tickets purchased at the door are $30. Afterglow tickets are $10 each. To order in advance, contact Edite at 203-259-8900.

Harmony on the Sound Chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, an organization of nearly 25,000 women worldwide who sing four-part a cappella harmony, barbershop style. The chorus has won the North Atlantic Region 1 Chorus Competition 13 times, and it placed 15th in International Competition in November, 2012.

The non-profit chorus performs regularly throughout the community, offering its talent for entertainment at civic events and charitable functions. Its members come from over 30 towns in Fairfield, New Haven and Litchfield Counties, as well as New York State.

Founded in 1945, Sweet Adelines International is the largest musical organization for women. Its mission is to advance the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance.
