Thousands of motorcycles ride through town

The sound of motorcycle engines could be heard well before thousands of motorcycles could be seen on Route 111 in Trumbull Sunday, as part of the Green Ribbon Ride. The ride was in memory of the Sandy Hook School tragedy and also a fund-raiser for Newtown charities.

Race director and and Trumbull resident Fred Garrity Jr., said more than 2,000 registered for the ride, which started in Shelton and ended at Westfield Trumbull. Riders donned green and residents cheered as the they passed by.
