Trumbull Racquet Club (TRC) will host Frog Hollow Racquet Club from Lansdale, PA. in a 10U Tennis PlayDay on Sunday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This match will be a new experience for TRC’s 10U program since they routinely compete in local USTA Jr. Team Tennis 10U Leagues. This will be the first time a team outside of Connecticut will visit TRC for a 10U PlayDay.

Tennis PlayDays, originated by the USTA, are events that allow children to play matches with a variety of opponents giving  them the opportunity to use the skills that they develop in their lessons.

“Frog Hollow is looking forward to gaining the experience, as well as traveling out of our area to compete, not to mention the friendships we will make,” said Mike Esz, Head Pro of Frog Hollow Racquet Club.

Mike Slattery, 10U Tennis Director at TRC, has organized 10 of TRC’s players to play against Frog Hollow.

“This will be a great way to put into play the tactics and strategies that we’ve been working on in our clinics,” he said. “Competitive matches in a fun environment are an important part of the learning process. Juniors in the orange and green ball stages will play against one another.”

The goal of 10U tennis is to provide a developmental pathway that is defined by red, orange, and green ball stages that are based on the child’s ability.

Trumbull Racquet Club, supports all of the junior players at the Club.

“We are very proud of our ten and under program,’ said Ginny Dragone, Manager of Trumbull Racquet Club. “We hope this event will be the start of a fun series of matches between the two clubs that our players will look forward to.”

Trumbull Racquet Club is a full service tennis facility that is operated by the Tennis Connecticut management group.
