Schools closed and snow expected to fall through the afternoon
12:50 p.m. — Light snow continues to fall but driving conditions appear to be good on main roads.
9:30 a.m. — Snow is falling steadily and causing for some slick driving conditions.
There is a rollover accident on Whitney Avenue, near Indian Ledge, with a possible extrication. Reports also say there was an accident on Route 25, just before 9:30 a.m., at the Trumbull/Monroe border.
6:54 a.m. — Trumbull Public Schools have the first snow day of the year.
The closing includes pre-school and TLC programs.
The area could get 3 to 5 inches of snow today. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Trumbull in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today. Snow will develop near the end of the morning rush and into the afternoon. Accumulating snow will create icy and hazardous travel, particularly in the afternoon, according to the NWS. Today's high is 33 degrees.
Things are expected to clear up tonight, with an overnight low of 16 degrees.
