Trunk or Treat - Oct. 31
On Thursday, Oct. 31, (rain or shine), Calvary Church, 498 White Plains Road, is hosting its 8th annual Trunk or Treat. This is a safe and fun event for families to go “trick-or-treating” on Halloween. When you and your child arrive, you will see themed cars along with people in costume at each car who are ready to give out candy. Join us from 5-8 p.m., (come and go when you please). Taste of Slovakia - Nov. 2
A Taste of Slovakia, sponsored by the Altar Guild of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Road, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. Menu is kielbasa and sauerkraut, potato pancakes, pirohi, halushki with cabbage, beverages and dessert. Holiday Basket Bonanza Raffle
On Saturday, Nov. 9, there will be a Holiday Basket Bonanza Raffle at Unity Hill United Church of Christ, 364 White Plains Road, to support the Unity Hill UCC Children’s Education Program. Preview 5-6 p.m., raffle following immediately after in Fellowship Hall. $15 per person (includes a sheet of raffle tickets, light snacks and grand prize ticket). Children under 12 are free. Breakfast and artists - Nov. 9
From 9:30-11:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 5995 Main St., come meet Addie the Comfort Dog and her handler Jennifer Marr. Art auction and beer and wine tasting - Nov. 17
Sponsored by Congregation B’nai Torah, 5700 Main St., on Sunday, Nov. 17. The professional auction company, Marlin Art will conduct the event with a preview at 6:30 p.m. The Beer and Wine Tasting, provided by Town Line, 345 Hawley Lane in Stratford, will also begin at 6:30 p.m., as will numerous raffles. A live auction will follow at 7:30, featuring art in all media and price ranges. Major credit cards accepted for purchases. Admission is $10 /$18 for two and includes refreshments, dessert and coffee. Each ticket purchased in advance will also receive two free raffle tickets. Dinner and discussion - Nov. 20
A Greek dinner with Marcia Haddad Ikonomopoulos, museum director of Kehila Kedosha Janina (KKJ), a Yanniote synagogue on Broome Street, in New York City, will be sponsored by Congregation B'nai Torah, 5700 Main St., on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The meet and greet dinner will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation and discussion at 7:30. Dinner is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. The presentation is free of charge.
