TRUMBULL — A Bridgeport teen suffered fatal injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Old Town Road early Wednesday, according to police.

Lt. Brian Weir said the 17-year-old boy was the sole occupant of the vehicle. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Police got several 911 calls around 12:30 a.m. about a motor vehicle accident in the area of Old Town and Quarry roads.

Arriving officers started to provide medical care to the teen, who was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital by medics. He later died of his injuries, Weir said.

The teen was driving west on Old Town Road when he collided with the guardrail and bridge abutment near White Plains Road. His vehicle came to a stop near Quarry Road. Weir said the accident scene spanned the entire block of Old Town Road.

Trumbull and Monroe police Traffic Divisions continue to investigate the deadly crash.

Old Town Road was closed between Quarry Road and White Plains Road — Route 127 — until about 7 a.m.
