Pedestrian struck by Metro North train in Fairfield
A trespasser was struck by a Metro North train just east of the Fairfield Metro station according to Majorie Anders of the MTA at 3:40 p.m.
Though it is not medically confirmed, Anders said witnesses report the trespasser’s status as DOA (dead on arrival).
The train was the 2:04 p.m. out of Grand Central due in New Haven at 4:06. As of 3:52 p.m., Anders said the Fairfield Fire Department has put a hold on all four tracks. The railroad is attempting to get bus service between Bridgeport and Southport. Service between Stamford and Grand Central are not currently affected and trains will not be held in Grand Central.
