The Connecticut Department of Transportation is milling and resurfacing Route 111, from the Merritt Parkway to Whitney Avenue, with work expected to start this week.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing 3.18 miles of Route 111 in Trumbull and was scheduled to start this week and last until Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013. The resurfacing segment of the project is anticipated to be performed on Tuesday, August 20 to Aug. 28.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 111 between the exit from southbound Route 15 and South Junction Broadway. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule is 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2013 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
