Literacy volunteers of Greater Bridgeport (LVBPT) have been nominated as a contestant in the Extreme Charity Makeover Contest. The winning charity will receive more than $20,000 in marketing services, and every participating charity will receive complimentary marketing services in this unique contest. LVBPT is seeking support from the community. The first phase of the contest is online voting. Visit extremecharitymakeover.us, click Vote Now and cast your vote for us. You can return once per day to vote.
A new website will allow the LVBPT staff to communicate more effectively with its community, and enable new and easier ways for people to support the LVBPT mission. In addition to a much-needed facelift, a Content Management System, Events Calendar, and Newsletter Engine would be put in place that allows LVBPT to market more effectively and ultimately lead to more services provided to the community. LVBPT provides free tutoring for adults who want to learn to speak English, improve their basic reading, writing and math skills or obtain a high school diploma.
Several local non-profit organizations will benefit from this special charity competition, sponsored by local businessman Greyson Schwing of Antelope Web (antelopeweb.com). Nominations will be accepted to enter the Extreme Charity Makeover Contest until May 31. Charitable 501c(3) organizations headquartered in New Haven or Fairfield County are eligible to compete for the grand prize. Nominations are accepted for submission with no restrictions.
