We’ve picked the book — Announcing Trumbull Library’s 2014 One Book-One Town title, The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach. This year’s theme is baseball. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Trumbull winning the Little League World Series. Come pick up a copy.

Altered book safes for middle and high school — Saturday, Dec. 28, 2-3:30 p.m. Vanessa Fasanella shows you how to create a secret safe place to hide your keepsakes out of an old book. All the cutting will be done beforehand, but instructions are included in case you want to make another.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting — Monday, Dec. 30, 3-3:30 p.m. Drop in to make plans and make friends.

Children’s Events 

Rainbow Loom Club — Friday, Dec. 27, 3-4:30 p.m. Do you love using your Rainbow Loom? Join us at the library to share your tips and learn from others. Try to create something new or help someone else. We will have lap tops available for tutorials. Please bring your own supplies. Register.

Family Chess Club — Saturday, Jan 4, 10 a.m.-noon. Selva Selvarajan’s Family Chess Club will assemble on the first and third Saturdays (except for long weekends). Chess learners and experts from 4 to 94 are welcome. Meet in the Children’s Section with your own board, or come to watch.
