Jack Miller, a Tashua Knolls Senior Men’s Club member, scored a hole-in-one for the second time on July 3 at Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull.

Miller hit a 7 iron at Hole No. 12 to record his ace. He was playing in the golf match with Mark Ryan, who attested to the achievement and indicated he wished he could someday do the same.

An ace in golf is a rare, exciting feat. To hit the golf ball into the hole in just one shot requires the right mixture of skill and luck. Some professional players have never hit a hole-in-one, while many amateur players have.

Generally, aces occur on par-three holes because par-four and par-five holes are too long. The odds of an amateur making a hole-in-one is 12,500 to 1.
