Freezing rain is making for slick streets and walkways this Sunday morning and afternoon.

A freezing rain advisory is in effect for Trumbull and the area through 7 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service warns that a glaze of ice will make travel treacherous, especially in untreated and elevated surfaces. Drivers are urged to slow down and be careful during a freezing rain advisory.

At noon on Sunday, it was 28 degrees in Trumbull but a high near 40 is possible this afternoon. Freezing rain is expected mainly before 4 p.m. It will turn to mostly rain after 8 p.m. and temperatures will rise to 46 degrees by 3 a.m.
