Holiday shoppers are invited to kick off the season early at the Fairfield Museum Shop Holiday Trunk Show, featuring local artisans, on Thursday Nov. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event will feature wine and cheese and gift items, including bee-themed pieces inspired by the museum’s 2013 honey project, Fairfield scene cards, scarves and accessories, fragrant soaps, beach inspired holiday gifts and hand-crafted jewelry. For those with children on their list, classic toys in the newly redesigned shop include yoyos, jacks and mobiles, as well as kits for making one’s own box kite or block puzzle.

Fairfield resident and historian Missy Wolfe will discuss her latest book, Insubordinate Spirit: A True Story of Life and Loss in Earliest America, 1610-1665, at 7:30. Copies of her book will be available for signing.

Admission is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Fairfield Museum and History Center at 203-259-1598 or visit fairfieldhistory.org.
