Elizabeth B. Murchan (Betty), age 90 of Trumbull, entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2012 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Betty was born on August 25, 1922, the daughter of Helen and John Griffin.

A graduate of Bassick High School, she retired from Catholic Charities Bridgeport in 1985 where she had worked for many years. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and warm and loving friend to many.

Betty was a devoted member of Saint Theresa Parish, Trumbull for over 60 years where she was a member and past President of the Confraternity of the Rosary, a member of the Prayer Shawl group that knit prayer shawls for those with cancer and a lifelong member of the St Raymond Nonnatus Mother's Circle.

Betty was a woman of many talents. Her needlework and paintings were among her most beautiful creations. She was an avid golfer, bridge player and a fan of Notre Dame football and UConn Women's basketball.

She was predeceased by her first husband, William J. Hass and her second husband, Lawrence A. Murchan.

She is survived by her four children: William and Mary Ellen Hass, Patricia and Thomas McLaine, Joan Wedge and Thomas and Sharon Hass; her grandchildren Julianne Alberty and her husband Joseph, Richard Hass and his wife Grace, Brian, Stacie and David McLaine, Jamie and Nicholas Wedge and Daniel Hass; and her great grandson, Mason Wedge. She is also survived by Larry's four children: Lawrence Murchan and wife Margaret, Kevin Murchan and wife Theresa, Kathy Green and husband Tom and Sheila Murchan as well as Larry's five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was also pre-deceased by a sister, Lillian King.

Betty's family wishes to thank the warm and loving women who cared for her in her final days: Georgia Kay, RN, Ella Dunlap and Guerdy Duclosel . The family would also like to thank Family and Children's Agency and CT Hospice for their care and support.

All are invited to meet directly at St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, CT on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:00am for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be immediately following at St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 4-7pm at the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, CT.
