Do you recognize this man? Stamford police ask for help identifying suspected burglar

STAMFORD — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who they say burglarized three city restaurants over five days.

Sgt. Sean Scanlan said the man allegedly broke into two restaurants in Stamford’s Cove area and one downtown between June 27 and 29.

The burglar gained entry by smashing a window at each restaurant, before making off with less than $500 in each instance, Scanlan said.

The suspect is described as a thin man who was wearing a red sweatshirt. He arrived at two of the restaurants on a bicycle, Scanlan said.

Anyone who recognizes the man pictured is asked to contact the Stamford Police Department at 203-977-4417.

The public can also submit a confidential text tip to Tip411. Anyone with a cellphone can send an anonymous tip to the Stamford Police Department by texting the word “StamfordPD” and the tip information to 847411 (tip411).
