Charter Communications begins 'DVDs for Troops' campaign

Since 2009, Charter Communications has joined with employees, customers and local organizations to aid in the mission of maintaining high morale among troops with its popular campaign of collecting and distributing DVDs to troops overseas. With more than 6,000 disks distributed in past years, Charter enters the fourth year of the "DVDs for Troops" campaign with the goal to reach an even wider audience of troops serving in the military. In addition to DVDs, Charter will also be collecting new and used CDs.

"The time soldiers spend waiting to be deployed or resting from a deployment can be a lonely and stressful time," said Greg Garabedian, Vice President and General Manager for Charter in New England. "By supplying our troops with DVDs, our soldiers are not only entertained, but reminded that the folks back home appreciate their dedication and commitment serving overseas, keeping us free and protecting us from harm's way."

Residents may contribute to the campaign by collecting DVDs of any kind, with a case or without, new or used, and drop them off at Charter's Customer Service Center at 9 Commerce Road, Newtown. Donors may also get in touch with the staff at CTV-21 203-304-4050, to arrange a drop-off or request a pick-up.
