Carmella T. "Babe" Santos was laid to rest on November 1, 2012 with a graveside burial service at the Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull, CT.

She was born in a second floor apartment on the corner of Madison and Amsterdam Avenue in Bridgeport, CT on January 19, 1929. She was the second child and only daughter of Fred and Della Pirozzoli Paralla. Her brother Fred, then two years older, gave her the name "Babe" in which she was known as.

She married the love of her life, Joseph F. "Joe" Santos, on June 18, 1949 and remained so until her death.

Her first born was Joseph. Joseph is married to Kimberly Prindle Santos. His children include Lynn, Laureen, Joseph, Grace, and Emily. "Babe" was the mother to John. She was also the mother to Steven who married Donna Barnum. Steven's children include Monica, Danielle, and Steven "Gus". "Babe" was the mother to Laura who is married to Paul Janisch.

She was a good mother, a great Italian cook and baker, a peacemaker with gentle and kind qualities. She honored and love her Savior Jesus, and had a heart for everyone.

In 1966 Joe and Babe built their home in the Madison and Fairview area of Trumbull on a parcel of land known as the Aldo Farm, with a view of the bird sanctuary called "The Anthony Aldo Memorial Park" established by their late neighbor and friend Rose Aldo.

Babe's death was in view of that bird sanctuary surrounded by family. She was a resident of Trumbull for 46 years.
