Broadway in the Park returns to Norwalk

NORWALK — Broadway in the Park returns to Mathews Park this weekend with more Disney classics.

The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts will hold the second annual music festival over the next three Saturdays in August. The gates open at 3:30 and the concert starts at 6:30 p.m.

On Aug. 13, the performers will sing selections from “Moana,” “Encanto” and “Aladdin.” The next Saturday, the songs will be from “The Lion King,” “Tangled” and “Frozen,” and the final week, the performers will sing music from “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Little Mermaid.”

All ticket proceeds will go to the conservatory’s scholarship fund, according to Julia Orosz, director of operations for the conservatory. Every dollar raised will go toward students’ education expenses.

Ticket prices range from $15 for a child under 12 (children under 2 are free) to $18 for an adult. The concerts also offer VIP seating at $25 for children under 12 and $30 for an adult.

Adults can also purchase an “all access” pass for one or with a child for $100. All access for an adult and two children is $150, and a sponsor ticket for two adults and up to three children is $250.

Tickets are available on The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts website.

The Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts will welcome its first class of students in fall 2023 for the two-year program. The conservatory already welcomed high school students for its first pre-college intensive last month, and applications are open for next year’s sessions.
