BRIDGEPORT — A female victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury in a shooting at a city park, according to officials.

Bridgeport Hospital reported to police just before 8 p.m. that a female gunshot wound victim had been dropped off at the emergency department, said Scott Appleby, the city’s director of emergency communications and emergency management.

Preliminary reports indicate the shooting took place at Went Field Park and left the victim with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, Appleby said.

The incident remains under investigation.
