The Trumbull High boys soccer team continued its unbeaten run to start the season, defeating St. Joseph 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at McDougall Stadium.
Matthew Restrepo opened the scoring for the Eagles in the second minute, lashing home a penalty kick after the Cadets were whistled for a handball in the penalty area.
In the 14th minute, Connor Jorge doubled the Trumbull advantage, firing home a shot off an assist from Thang Dao. The Eagles carried that lead into the half, before Jason Weinstein scored off an assist from Chris Lancia in the 58th minute.
St. Joseph fell to 1-3 overall. The Cadets return to action on Tuesday with a home game at 4 p.m. against Fairfield Ludlowe.
Trumbull takes on fellow FCIAC unbeaten Fairfield Warde (3-0) on Tuesday at 4 p.m. on Warde's grass field.
