The Trumbull Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring American Red Cross Babysitting Classes for town residents age 11-15. The Red Cross is the nation’s leader in babysitter training and will prepare students to be the best sitter in the neighborhood.

The 7-hour course will provide youths planning to babysit the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care for children and infants. In a survey, 8 of 10 parents said they would pay more for a trained babysitter who is certified by the Red Cross. Start a babysitting business on the right foot and learn how to be a safe, professional and reliable sitter. Certification classes include a free digital certificate, valid for two years, plus free access to digital learning materials.

There are four classes scheduled, January 7, February 11, March 4 and April 10. All classes are from 9 to 4 at Middlebrook Elementary School. Fee is $90. Classes are limited to 12 students.
