Five state parks have closed to new cars on Sunday.

Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown filled to parking capacity as of 11:30 a.m., while Squantz Pond State Park in New Fairfield closed to new cars as of 12:40 p.m.

In Chester, Pattaconk Lake Recreation Area in Cockaponset State Forest in Chester reached parking capacity as of 12:50 p.m.

About 20 minutes later, Miller’s Pond State Park in Durham closed to new cars.

Around 2 p.m., Burr Pond State Park in Torrington filled to parking capacity.
