Too many. Because of social distancing rules during the coronavirus pandemic, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has reduced parking at state parks in an effort to reduce crowds. The following state parks and forests are now closed to new visitors. Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown Sherwood Island State Park in Westport Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford. Burr Pond State Park in Torrington Topsmead State Forest in Litchfield Southford Falls State Park in Southbury Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden. C.P.
