All 4 shoreline state park beaches closed to new visitors

Another nice day of summerlike weather brings another day of closings of some state parks to new visitors.

Because of social distancing rules because of the coronavirus pandemic, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has reduced parking at state parks.

The following state parks are now closed to new visitors.

Silver Sands State Park, Milford.

Sherwood Island State Park, Westport.

Hammonasset Beach State Park, Madison.

Rocky Neck State Park, East Lyme.

Harkness Memorial State Park, Waterford.
