Games to watch

Catholic Memorial (Mass.) at Fairfield Prep (Wonderland of Ice), Wednesday, 11 a.m.: Pretty much every year there's a competitive game between these two teams, perennially among the top programs in their states.

Ridgefield at Notre Dame-West Haven (Bennett), Wednesday, 5:15 p.m.: A top-10 matchup, though they are closer in the top 10 than they were a week ago. It begins a big few days for the Tigers.

Trumbull at Westhill/Stamford (Conners), Wednesday, 7:50 p.m.: Going into the week, Westhill/Stamford leads Trumbull by one point for the sixth and final FCIAC playoff spot. A solid Division II tilt, too.

North Haven at Branford (Northford), Wednesday, 8:15 p.m.: Seeding in the SCC/SWC Division II tournament could be on the line when these two friendly rivals meet at their home rink. Defending champion Branford has clinched a top-three seed in the CIAC Division II tournament, but Farmington Valley and Hand can make up ground on the Hornets.

Ridgefield at Darien (Darien Ice House), Friday, 8:10 p.m.: The back end of those big couple of days for Ridgefield, which could untangle FCIAC seeding with a win. The Tigers could also use a win or two to try to secure a first-round home game in the state tournament.

Hamden at Fairfield Prep (Wonderland), Saturday, 1 p.m.: It has been a tough time in Hamden in the second half, but the Green Dragons may be getting a little healthier. They'll have a week off after this game, and they'll see where the seeding takes them in the state tournament.

LHK at East Haven (DiLungo), Saturday, 1 p.m.: The teams entered the week tied for the fourth and final SCC/SWC Division II playoff spot. East Haven had a mathematical chance to move up, too, with four league games remaining.

Xavier at Cheshire (Wesleyan), Saturday, 7:30 p.m.: The rinkmates meet up and play their Hockey Fights Cancer game.

Darien at Notre Dame-West Haven (Bennett), Monday, 6:15 p.m.: The Blue Wave beat Notre Dame 5-2 on Jan. 11; Darien's speed contributed to the Green Knights' parade to the penalty box. We'll see how this game differs 33 miles away and 44 days later.
