Fall Festival is this weekend

The Trumbull Fall Festival has finally arrived, this year bigger than ever.

The annual town celebration brings together families from Trumbull and surrounding towns for a day of fun, food and festivities. The event is hosted by the Town of Trumbull with the help of numerous sponsors. This year, the Trumbull Fall Festival has been expanded to a two-day event, with the carnival and Food Truck Festival on Friday from 5 to 10 p.m., and on Saturday from noon to 10.

Marenna Amusement Company will once again present a carnival and amusements for all ages. An unlimited ride session will take place on Saturday from noon to 5 for $25 per bracelet. Single and multi-ticket discount packs will also be available.

On Friday, the nationally-renowned Eagles tribute band, The Desert Highway Band, will take the stage at 7 p.m. Desert Highway is known for its performances of Take It Easy, Hotel California, Life in the Fast Lane, Heartache Tonight, Desperado and many other Eagles hit songs.

Jen Durkin and the Business will be on the stage at 5:30 on Saturday, performing songs from rock, soul, and blues genres. Then, the Trumbull High School Golden Eagles Marching Band will share a sneak preview from its upcoming season. The grand finale of the festival is a 30-minute fireworks show by Atlas Pyrotechnics.

A Beer and Wine Patio (must be 21 and over) will feature locally crafted and domestic beers, and a variety of wines. Food trucks and vendors will also be on hand to meet festival-goers’ cravings, including: Reddi Roosters nuggets and potato puffs, the Chowder Spot lobster and clam rolls, Vazzy’s grilled burgers and dogs, fried dough, tacos, pizza, desserts, ice cream and more.

There is a $5 admission fee; children age 5 and under are free. The $5 fee covers admission into the event both Friday and Saturday.

Event sponsors include TD Bank, Peoples United Bank, Edge Fitness Club, Trumbull Republican Town Committee, Children’s Dentistry of Trumbull, Wells Fargo Bank, Renewable by Anderson, Long Ridge Dentistry, Stop & Shop, Peoples Bank, G & G Liquors and Merit Insurance.

The town is still accepting corporate sponsorships to help offset operational costs of the event, and volunteers are needed to assist in various areas of the festival. To volunteer, contact Lynn Arnow at 203-452- 5089 or email larnow@trumbull-ct.gov.
