Interactive HipHop Dance for Tweens and Teens — Summer Reading Road Trip. Saturday, July 19, 1-2 p.m. This lively, energetic program encourages a child’s artistic expression in dance and music. Includes amazing, animated and funky dance moves. Ages 10 and up. Register.

Author talk — Connecticut Lore: Strange, Off Kilter and Full of Surprises, with Zack Lamothe. Wednesday, July 23, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sharing Connecticut’s tales, from its haunted history to the mysteries of Plum Island, author Lamothe reveals curious encounters, forgotten places, and the lore of Pirate treasure. Google Glass — Presentation by Heather Staines. Thursday, July 24, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Ever wondered what Google Glass is? What does the world look like through this wearable computer? Google Glass Explorer Heather Staines shares the world as she sees it through her Google Glasses. Register.

Music Mandy — Friday, July 18, 10:30-11 a.m. Trumbull children ages 0 -5 are invited to sing, shake, and dance to music from Trumbull’s own Mandy Cook.

Family Chess Club — Saturday, July 19, 10 a.m.-noon. Selva Selvarajan’s Family Chess Club will assemble on the first and third Saturdays (except for long weekends). Chess learners and experts from 4 to 94 are welcome. Meet in the Children’s Section with your own board, or come to watch.
