Non-Fiction Discussion Group: Brown Bag Lunch Meeting — Wednesday, Oct. 2, 12-1 p.m. Director Sue Horton’s group meets the first Wednesday of each month. October’s title is Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity by Katherine Boo. Check the library for copies. Drop in to join. Bring lunch. 

The Old Masters: Art of the Italian Renaissance — ArtScapades presents Wednesday, Oct. 2, 7-9 p.m. ArtScapades explores the styles of five Italian artists: Botticelli, da Vinci, Michelangelo, Titian and Raphael. This lecture discusses the artists’ innovations, their works, the Renaissance, and related historical and intellectual currents. Registration requested.

Simple Steps for Starting Your Business — SCORE’s five-session series continues, tonight is part three, marketing plan. Held Thursday, Oct. 3; Sign up at 6 for the start at 6:30 p.m. Continues through Tuesday, Oct. 15, by SCORE experts on business planning, operations, marketing, etc.

Children’s Events 

Storytime for 2’s — Tuesday, Oct. 1, 9:30-10 a.m. Stories, music and a craft round out a morning for toddlers with their caregivers licing in Trumbull. Register.

Storytime for kids 2-and-a half through three year-old — Tuesday, Oct. 1, 10:30 -11 a.m., and Wednesday, Oct. 2, 9:30-10 a.m. Books, fingerplays, music and a themed craft make for a learning experience for pre-readers and their caregivers. Register. Trumbull residents only.

Pre-K Story Time — Tuesday, Oct. 1, 11-11:30 a.m. Storytime friends gather to hear stories and create a take-home craft. Trumbull residents who will be entering kindergarten next year should register.

Story Times for 3 & 4’s — Wednesday, Oct. 2, 10:30-11 a.m. Sharing books, songs and creating crafts. Trumbull residents ages 3-4 are invited to register.

Baby Cafe — Babies and caregivers can expect a session of rhythm and rhymes for ages 6 months to 2 years. Held Wednesday, Oct. 2, and Thursday, Oct. 3, 11-11:30 a.m. Drop in.

Library Lions — For children age 4. Tuesday Oct. 1, 10:30-11 a.m. This program features longer books and a variety of activities, such as puppets, crafts and interactive play. Register. Trumbull residents.

Robert the Guitar Guy — Ages 1-4 meet Wednesday, Oct. 2, 1:30-2:15 p.m. Music, storytelling, rhythm and movement, Drop-in. Trumbull residents.
