Transfer Station recycling, Goodwill Collection Center and Hazardous Waste Day

Trumbull, Monroe and Easton residents can now recycle large, bulky plastics at the TEaM Transfer Station. These items, such as outdoor plastic furniture and plastic toys, can now be placed in a green container marked, “Large and Bulky Plastic Only.”

Recycling these and other items not only helps the environment, but also saves taxpayer dollars by avoiding high garbage disposal fees. Other items that can be recycled at the transfer station include:

• Single Stream recyclables, such as cans, bottles, cardboard and junk mail

• Electronics

• Scrap metal

• Fluorescent bulbs

• Batteries

• Motor oil, cooking oil and antifreeze

There is also a Goodwill collection center with an attendant.

The next Household Hazardous Waste Day will be Saturday, June 1, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., at Indian Ledge Park. Help to Reduce, Re-use and Recycle.
