The Trumbull Historical Society is presenting a discussion on the history of the Merritt Parkway, by Jill Smyth, on Sunday, Jan. 18.
The Powerpoint presentation will be held at 2 p.m., at the Society Museum at 1856 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull.
Smyth is the Executive Director of the Merritt Parkway Conservancy, a non-profit organization working in partnership to celebrate the history of the Merritt Parkway and preserve it’s original design while keeping it’s functionality as a major thoroughfare in the future.
She is co-author of a new book, The Merritt Parkway: A Road That Shaped A Region (History Press, October 2014).
The event is free and open to the public. Donations toward future programs and the upkeep of our Museum are gladly accepted.
