Bike ride through the Valley — Trumbull Historian, Sue A. DelBianco, will host an annual historical bike ride on Sunday, May 15, at 11 a.m. Meeting will be at the commuter parking lot on Tait Road in Trumbull. Admission is free. DelBianco will bring cyclists along the rail-trail where a railroad was once housed, promoting industry and linking the communities. Along the rail-trail, Sue will show the cyclists many historical points-of-interest: A foundation of an ice house and a knit mill, a cow tunnel, a fountain pool from Parlor Rock Amusement park, site of a train wreck in 1901, site of a plane crash in World War II, an Indian Ledge, which Indians used as shelter during hunting and fishing seasons and Hannah Crannah's gravesite and much more. Fund-raising car wash — From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, located right on 6523 Main St., (across from Marissa's), is hosting a car wash fund-raiser for Sunshine Kids, an organization dedicated to children with cancer.
