Ski trip — The Nichols Improvement Association (NIA) is offering a trip to Mt. Snow. All the forms and payment (via PayPal) to register will be done through the NIA website at niatrumbull.org. There are several pricing levels which include Coach bus transportation. All participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult who agrees to act as the responsible parent/chaperone for the trip (see appropriate form online). The bus will depart from the NIA parking lot at 1773 Huntington Tpke., in Trumbull, at 5:45 a.m.

Primavera Duo — Primavera Duo performance has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 8, (originally Feb. 8), at the Center at 23 Priscilla Place, at 1 p.m. Sponsored by the Trumbull Arts, Primavera Duo is an eclectic mix of traditional and Modern Italian favorites. With Joe on the saxophone and singing capabilities and John on keyboard, they create a sound that cannot be replicated. Playing favorites such as Al di La,Volare,and O Sole Mio. Nichols Garden Club meeting — The club will meet at The Starkweather House, 1773 Huntington Tpke, Nichols, with a program, Beyond Birdfeeders-Gardening for the Birds, presented by Margery Winters. Free screening ‘The Anonymous People’ — Westport Family Counseling and Newport Academy will be hosting a free screening, followed by a panel discussion from 6:30-9 p.m., at Christ & Holy Trinity Church in Westport. The Anonymous People is a feature documentary film about the 23.5 million Americans living in long-term recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction. The moving story of will be told through the faces and voices of the leaders, volunteers, corporate executives, and celebrities who are laying it all on the line to save the lives of others just like them. Dog wash fund-raiser — Trumbull Agriscience Center’s Dog Wash will be held at Trumbull High School’s Agriscience and Biotechnology Center from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. The Agriscience students are sponsoring this fund-raising event. Shop local — Handmade Happening Craft Fair will be held at Long Hill Methodist Church, and hosted by it’s Children’s Center at 6358 Main St., from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Every shopper receives a free raffle ticket. Town Hall Art Gallery — Christian Heritage School will be showing 25 impressionist and post-impressionist paintings created by their high school art students at the Trumbull Town Hall Art Gallery. Scholarship — Trumbull Community Women will award a $2500 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who is a resident of Trumbull, chosen based on their dedication, the exceptional time and effort expended in volunteering activities, and the subject content of an essay not to exceed 500 words. The completed application, with all required attachments, must be postmarked by April 25, and mailed to TCW Scholarship Committee, 26 Dale Road, Trumbull, CT 06611.

Citi-Field bus trip — The CT Fallen Heroes Foundation will be sponsoring a bus trip to Citi-Field to see the Mets take on the Washington Nationals. Great Minds art collection on display — The Great Minds Collection: 35 Portraits of Transformational Figures, will be exhibited throughout the Trumbull Library, 33 Quality St., a collaborative project of contemporary American artist Robin Morris and Trumbull residents Dick and Jane Resnick. Great Minds’ inclusion criteria where someone who has altered the human landscape, who has changed the way humans think, or what we think, or even how we think, and who has remained relevant today. Mark Twain, Buddha, Albert Einstein, Nelson Mandela, Thomas Jefferson, and the rest are portrayed in startling images that draw viewers into their amazing lives. Literary competition — Writers from elementary to adult are invited to submit previously unpublished works in the categories of fiction, non-fiction and poetry. Once received, the entries are sorted and distributed to the panel of judges with the names of the authors removed for anonymity. All winning entries will be published in the 2015 edition of Penworks, the literary magazine of the Trumbull Arts Festival. Every year the winning writers have the pleasure of becoming published authors. Donations sought — Donate your old but still usable clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, linens, pillow cases, blankets, curtains or stuffed animals. Grace Episcopal Church, 5958 Main St., now hosts a St. Pauly’s used clothing drop-off shed. Easily accessible, and located in the rear parking lot behind the church. Receipts are available at the shed for your charitable donation. Place donations in plastic bags and tie them up to keep clean and dry.
