Shawn McAuley receives Governor's Scholar Award

Trumbull resident Shawn McAuley, attends Platt Technical High School in Milford, and recently was awarded the prestigious Governor’s Scholar Award. The purpose of the award is to recognize academically talented high school students in schools throughout the state. All principals of CAS member high schools are given the opportunity to nominate one junior who ranks in the top 5% of their class. Shawn is ranked number one in his class and has been since freshman year. An essay on an assigned topic has to be completed.

Shawn is a junior in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning shop and plans on pursuing college with a concentration in business. Shawn has competed in the Skills USA state competition in his trade and recently placed sixth in the state. He is also a three-year member of the Platt Tech soccer team playing both JV and Varsity.

Shawn is an accomplished BMX racer. He is currently ranked number one in the state and has held that position for nine years.
