The Trumbull Historical Society, in conjunction with the Trumbull Library System’s One Book, One Town series, is presenting a program entitled Transplanted Lives: The History of Back-to-the-Land Movements in America. It will be held on Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m., at the Trumbull Historical Society, 1856 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull.
Dr. Paul Siff from Sacred Heart University, will speak on the back to the land movements from the early 19th century when industrialization threatened the intimacy of small farming, through to today’s need to get back to nature with farmers markets, farm-to -table restaurants, and community gardens.
This program is free, but your donation to the Society will help defray costs for future programs. Refreshments will be served and there will be ample time to ask questions and discuss this movement.
Registration is suggested by leaving your name, number of attendees and a phone contact on the Society’s voice mail at least 24 hours in advance of the program at 203-377-6620.
