Positively Trumbull photographers recognized

Positively Trumbull photo contest winners presented their winning photographs to First Selectman Tim Herbst at Trumbull Town Hall on Wednesday, April 20.

This past winter, Positively Trumbull Facebook page held a photo contest seeking photographs depicting scenes from Trumbull. Many beautiful photos were submitted. John Ceritelli, of Prestige Barkley Photographic Design in Hamden, judged the photos.

The first place winner in the amateur photo category was Krissy Sienkiewicz; and, in the professional category, Bill McMenamy was the winner. The winning photos will be on display in Trumbull Town Hall.

Trumbull resident Anne Kearns Fers, a 1976 Trumbull High School graduate, is the administrator of the Positively Trumbull Facebook page.

Fers was compelled to create the page because she felt that there were too many negative comments being posted to Facebook pages that are geared toward Trumbull residents.

A hometown resident of over fifty years, Fers wanted to share her love of the positive things Trumbull has to offer.

“When someone looks at Facebook for information about our town, I didn’t want them to see the unflattering comments some people make about our town leaders and businesses,” she said. “We need to be proud of our community and let people see what makes this town so special.”

Positively Trumbull does not allow any negative, advertising, or political posts; instead it is only “Positively Trumbull all the time,” according to Fers

Positive posts feature Trumbullites comments and photos about favorite areas in town, favorite restaurants, accomplishments and uplifting news about our town.

In an effort to support local business, the first Friday of the month posts about Trumbull based businesses are encouraged.

The Positively Trumbull Facebook page currently has over 1,000 members.
