Pastel artist demonstration April 2

CT Classic Arts will hold a meeting Thursday, April 2, at 1 p.m. in the Trumbull Library community room.

The artist demonstration will be done by Clayton Buchanan, who will paint a pastel portrait of one of the group’s members. Buchanan received the F. Luis Mora Award for Pastels, Kent Art Association, 2013; Best In Show, Connecticut Pastel Society Annual Member Show, 2011, and has won awards on a regional and national level.

His memberships include the Pastel Society of America, Connecticut Pastel Society, Guild of Boston Artists, and Kent Art Association.

He studied figure/portrait painting with William Draper, Art Students League, New York and impressionist painting with Henry Hensche in Provincetown, Mass.

Currently he conducts demonstrations and workshops. CT Classic meetings are open to the public for a $4 fee.
