Now accepting nominations for the first annual SilverSource Awards

SilverSource — a nonprofit agency providing information, counseling and emergency financial assistance to the over-60 population of the greater Stamford, area — is accepting nominations for the first SilverSource Awards. The awards celebrate the contributions made in improving the lives of adults over age 60 throughout Fairfield County by volunteers, individuals, businesses and organizations.

The SilverSource Awards will recognize these advancements in two areas:

  • The SilverSource Community Service Volunteer Award will recognize an outstanding volunteer age 50 or over who is sharing their experience, talent and skills to enrich the lives of older adults.

  • The SilverSource Contribution to Community Award will recognize one individual and one organization or business that provides significant improvements to the community as a place to live and retire.

Nominations now open

Nominations are now open to volunteers, individuals, organizations, businesses and groups or collaborative initiatives that contribute to the lives of older adults. All nominations will be evaluated by a panel of judges comprised of community, business and thought leaders. All achievements, accomplishments or service on which nominations are based must reflect the SilverSource vision and mission. The awards recognize high impact programs and initiatives in Fairfield County. There is no cost to enter.

The SilverSource mission is to advance the dignity, independence and quality of life of older adults by providing guidance for families and supportive services to those who are in need, by engaging in community partnerships and by advocating for sound public policies. SilverSource envisions a society that ensures older adults have the resources to live independent, healthy and fulfilled lives.
