Local author publishes children’s book

Local writer and author, Andy Garreffa Orizotti of Trumbull, has published a children's book about the Sonoran Desert of Arizona. Good Morning Sonoran Desert is a nonfiction children's book about the desert coming to life with another new day in Arizona.

Lorraine Pace Halvorsen, the author's 90 year-old grandmother, an award winning artist, illustrated the book with beautiful water color paintings. The author grew up in Montana and graduated from the University of Montana in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. This is her first children's book.

“For many years, I have had the privilege of visiting my grandmother in Arizona each year and have grown to appreciate and admire the Sonoran Desert very much. Children enjoy the simplicity and beauty of the illustrations and the book gives them an opportunity to learn about a unique and fascinating region of our country.” Additional information about the book, the author, the illustrator, the publisher and where to purchase the book can all be found on the author's website at www.andyorizotti.com.
