Kick-off Fall Book Nook Sale — Saturday, Aug. 31, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Book Nook Sale is early this year. It will return to its first Saturday of each month normal schedule on Saturday, Oct. 5. For information or to volunteer, call the library or get contact information at their website:

Non-fiction discussion group — The Director’s Club. Brown bag lunch meeting. Wednesday, Sept. 4, noon-1 p.m. Today’s title is Thunderstruck, by Erik Larson. Larson tells the stories of two men; Hawley Crippen, a very unlikely murderer, and Guglielmo Marconi, the creator of wireless radio communication, whose lives intersect aboard ship during one of the greatest criminal chases of all time, and a suspenseful meeting. Check the library for copies; suggestions welcome. Drop by if you’d like to join.
