Junior League welcomes Patricia Boyd as president

The Board of Directors of the Junior League of Eastern Fairfield County (JLEFC), along with its members, welcomed Patricia Boyd as its new president at their annual dinner held May 24.

Boyd has been a member of the JLEFC for six years. She has served on numerous committees including New Membership Engagement, where she recruited women in the community to join the JLEFC; Helping Hands, where she spent numerous hours working directly with children at Thomas Hooker School in Bridgeport and coordinating meals for Operation Hope; and as chair of the Art Show, a JLEFC spring fundraiser. Patricia and her husband, Mike, live in Fairfield with their son, Henry.

"I am delighted to serve as the president of the JLEFC during its 96th year," Boyd said. We plan to continue our many important initiatives, including our "Healthy Families, Healthy Futures" programs, to increase the physical and developmental health of young children by focusing on literacy, family connections, healthy eating and healthy lifestyles, to better prepare children in the Bridgeport area to succeed in school. Additionally, I am excited to share that this fall, we will host our third annual 5K Run/Walk and new member open houses. Dates will be available at jlefc.org in August."

The JLEFC is always welcoming new members interested in serving their community. Women interested in learning more about the JLEFC and considering membership may visit jlefc.org or call the JLEFC office at 203-259-9995 for more information.
